DIY Natural Organic Deodorant that Works!

Because we have tried it all, and nothing store bought comes close to how clean, and how perfectly odorless this deodorant is.  The best part is, most of the ingredients are in your kitchen and bathroom already!

In this recipe, we introduced magnesium oil.  Some of the amazing benefits of magnesium oil are that it neutralizes odor-causing bacteria, and is gentler on sensitive skin than just using baking soda.  We use it as an alternative to aluminum that is found in the most generic deodorants.  Magnesium also helps lower cortisol levels, which can help with ingrown hairs and skin inflammation.

The Ingredients

Makes 4 Ounces.

6 tbsp of Baking Soda
1 tbsp of Organic Coconut Oil
1 tbsp of Organic Shea Oil
1 tsp Magnesium Oil
1/2 tsp Organic Castor Oil
1/2 tsp Organic Arrowroot Powder

Instructions

In a small saucepan add coconut oil, shea oil, and castor oil on low heat.
Wait until the coconut oil and shea oil have melted just enough to mix them together.
Transfer oils to a small bowl and add in the magnesium oil.  Then add arrowroot and finally the baking soda.

Mix the contents until they become a smooth paste (may require more baking soda or oil depending on preference).

Transfer the paste into two 2 ounce brown jars for storage.

We use brown jars so that sunlight will not change the integrity of the ingredients, and prefer 2 ounce jars so that you can travel easily with your toiletries on an airplane.
